Photography then and now, what’s the difference?
Photography in the 70’s when I first started. was built around trail and error. Today I take a picture and voila there’s the picture on the back of my camera. Some may say, look how easy it is now. I became a photojournalist in 1978, with the Tuscaloosa News and later with the Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel. I’ve carried that style throughout my commercial career. My clients like the fact that I can shoot from the hip.
Everyone has a favorite sport that they really like, being a photojournalist from Alabama shooting sports was one my favorite jobs. I started shooting stills and video while still in high school. In college, I photographed for the yearbook and newspapers for my schools. After graduation, I worked for the Tuscaloosa News photographing the final years with Bear Bryant and Alabama football. By the way, I’m still a fan. That led to the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel where I photographed the Dolphins and University of Miami.
Love to travel.
